TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man has been arrested for the sexual battery of a child who told investigators he made her watch pornographic videos.

Alex John Matthews, 29, faces two counts of sexual battery on a child under 12 years of age and one count of distributing obscene material to a minor.

He remained in the Leon County Detention Center on Friday. He was booked at the jail Thursday on a $2,500 bond for the distribution charge. No bond is indicated for the sexual battery charges.

The victim told investigators that Matthews had touched her inappropriately more than six times when no one else was around, according to a probable cause affidavit.

She said that, on his computer and cellphone, he had her watch YouTube videos in which people "were touching where you're not supposed to be touched."

Matthews declined to contact a Leon County Sheriff's Office detective to schedule an interview, court documents said. The detective said he had reached Matthews on the phone on June 11, 2018, and after that had been unable to reach him again.
