TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a man seen on video picking up a wallet someone else dropped at a Walmart.

On Sunday, July 29, a customer at the Walmart off Mahan Drive dropped his wallet while finishing up at the self-checkout area.

Another man - one wearing a white shirt and red shorts - came behind him and tried to conceal picking up the dropped wallet, the LCSO said in a Facebook post.

He then left the store without turning it in or contacting law enforcement.

"Father of the year," one person commented about the post. "Great example for your kids!!!" another person said.

Another person wrote: "Was the perfect teaching moment to show those 3 kids how to do the right thing. Shame. Hopefully they won't follow his example.

If you know him, or have any information, you are asked to contact Detective Wilson at (850) 606-3300 or, to remain anonymous, to call Big Bend Crime Stoppers at (850) 574-TIPS (8477).
