TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A scam circulating today is using the name of Leon County Sheriff's Office.
Supposedly a "Lt. Raines" is calling from LCSO and telling people to go get a pre-paid debt card or they are going to jail for missed court dates.
"This is a scam," LCSO said in a Facebook post. "The Leon County Sheriff's Office will never ask for Green Dot cards for payment."
The cards are prepaid Visa cards.
