LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office said if you are ever in a situation like the shooting at Hot Yoga Tallahassee, there are three tips to follow.
First is to try your best to avoid the situation, second is to deny, and third if all else fails, defend.
Mike Wallace, Crime Specialist at LCSO, said that the people involved in the shooting did a good job stopping more killing from occurring.
"We had citizens come out and just refuse to be a victim," said Wallace. "They came out and said we are not going to let any other further killing occur and in those situations, that is the best we can hope for is that citizens are aware of their surroundings and understand that there are numbers and with those numbers they can protect themselves."
Wallace said that you cannot ever be fully prepared for a shooter, but following those three tips will help you if you ever find yourself in one of those situations.
