LCSO investigating after Rickards High School receives threat of violence message

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office is investigating a threat of violence message that was sent to Rickards High School. 

A notice on the Rickards High School listserv from Principal Douglas Cook that was sent to parents, guardians and stakeholders on Thursday said "administration has received a message that could be considered a threat of violence."   

It continued on by saying:  

"Although we cannot substantiate the credibility of the threat, for the safety and security of our students, faculty, and staff, the Leon County Sheriff's office is investigating the matter diligently so that we may continue our normal school day tomorrow, Friday, November 9, 2018."  

The notice said the Leon County Schools Safety and Security Office and the Leon County Sheriff's Office are assessing the threat.
