TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office hosted a First Responders Appreciation Luncheon Wednesday afternoon.  

Florida State University's team chaplain, Clint Purvis, was the keynote speaker for the event.

Leon County Sheriff, Walt McNeil, said that events like these make first responders feel like a team. 

"It's fantastic to have everybody come together it says that we are a team that we all recognize that were a team and that if we have a circumstance that comes up, we may have differences from time to time, but at the end of the day we stand together, we stand strong," said Sheriff McNeil. 

Star Swain also performed at the event.
