LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office is honoring its correctional officers and employees with a BBQ lunch.
The warm meal was to recognize Correctional Officers Appreciation Week and to say, thank you for the hard work the staff does day in and day out.
Officers and staff sat down and enjoyed a chicken and rib plate with all the fixings.
Sheriff Walt McNeil says, important to honor those who play a vital role in the rehabilitation process.
The Leon County Correctional Facility is home to close to 1,100 inmates with staff working around the clock ensure the public's safety and security.
