TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Members of the Leon County Sheriff's Office's Honor Guard will be heading to Washington, D.C. for National Police Week.
Fallen Deputy Chris Smith will be honored at the event. His family will also be in attendance.
LCSO has partnered with Miller's Tallahassee Ale House to raise money for the Honor Guard to offset the expenses of the trip.
On Monday, April 13, members of the Honor Guard will be assisting the Miller's staff waiting tables. 10% of all food purchases will be donated to the trip's costs. This will include take-out orders.
The North Florida Chapter of the COPS organization will pay 100% of the trip for the Smith family.
