LCSO finds meth, stolen property inside Tallahassee home

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A 63-year-old man has been arrested after deputies found different types of meth, several items used to make meth, and other prescription drugs inside his Tallahassee home.

The Leon County Sheriff's Office says their Vice Unit served as search warrant in the 7500 block of Maige Road Tuesday as part of a months-long investigation.

Once inside, detectives found almost 50 grams of different types of methamphetamine, 200 cold medicine pills (commonly used to manufacture meth), a gun, other prescription drugs, other materials used to make meth, and several pieces of stolen property.

Thomas Sims, 63, was inside the home when the search was conducted.

He was been charged with trafficking in meth, trafficking in pseudoephedrine, sale of meth (two counts), possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a controlled substance (six counts), possession of listed chemicals, grand theft, dealing in stolen property, maintaining a drug house, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
