TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County Sheriff Walt McNeil has fired a deputy who threatened a woman during a ride along.

According to court records, a woman said Deputy Jarrett Broughton drove to Apalachicola National Forest during a ride-along last September, grabbed his baton and asked her to expose her breasts.

The woman came forward on Thursday. She told investigators she initially wanted to forget about the incident and worried that reporting it would jeopardize future job prospects with the sheriff's office.

Broughton had been with LCSO since January of 2016.

He turned himself in for aggravated assault.

In a news release, Sheriff McNeil said, "The Leon County Sheriff's Office has a zero tolerance for its employees violating the public's trust. Once we became aware of the situation, we took immediate action to investigate the allegation. We take our obligation to protect citizens seriously and any abuse of power will be met with swift consequences."
