LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A man has been arrested after he led deputies on a chase in two different cars over the weekend.

On Saturday, Feb. 9 around 9 p.m., the Leon County Sheriff's Office attempted a traffic stop in the area of Capital Circle NW and W. Tharpe Street on a Dodge Charger driven by Cedric Groover.

However, Groover refused to stop and drove off, leading deputies on a chase through the city.

The LCSO Aviation Unit was requested for assistance and, using the helicopter's thermal imaging camera, deputies were able to maintain visual contact on the suspect as he drove the car into a neighborhood, switched vehicles, and continued to avoid law enforcement.

Eventually, video shows that the suspect vehicle pulled into a driveway on Bareback Drive, where the suspect hopped out and ran between houses and yards.

Groover was eventually taken into custody without incident.

He was charged with the following:

  • Violation of Probation (drug sales x4)
  • Possession of Controlled Substance x3
  • Possession of narcotics equipment
  • Flee/Elude police
  • Resisting Officer with Violence
  • Carry concealed weapon
