TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee woman has been charged with grand theft after deputies say she picked up a forgotten wallet at a grocery store register and left without turning it in.
The Leon County Sheriff's Office says that Amy McKnight (who was booked under her maiden name Hubbard) has been arrested in connection to the theft.
On Saturday, Sept. 1, around 2 p.m. at the Food Giant in Woodville, deputies say McKnight picked up a wallet another customer left behind and left the store with it, without turning it in.
She was taken into custody on Monday on grand theft charges. McKnight was booked into jail on a $2,500 bond but has since bonded out.
As part of her release conditions, she has been ordered to have no contact with the victim, abstain from alcohol, and refrain from criminal activity.

On Saturday, Sept. 1, around 2 p.m. at the Food Giant in Woodville, deputies say the woman in the white tank top forgot to take her wallet with her after checking out.
The woman in the red and white tie-die shirt behind her picked it up and left the store with it, without turning it in.
