LEON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL ) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office is now accepting nominations for deputy, correctional officer, and civilian employees of the year.
Every year, LCSO's Academy Alumni Association announces the Leon County Deputy of the Year Award and Leon County Correctional Officer of the Year Award to be presented to an outstanding deputy and correctional officer.
This year, the CAAA has added a new category: Leon County Sheriff’s Office Civilian Employee of the Year.
The awards aim to recognize a deputy, correctional officer, and civilian employee that has been identified by a citizen for their outstanding service to the community.
Anyone can nominate an employee for outstanding service performed in Leon County during the time period of September 1, 2017 through December 1, 2018. The only requirement is the event had to take place in Leon County.
Nominations can be for anything from a lifesaving event to an above and beyond level of professionalism, even community involvement. Nominations must be postmarked no later than January 18, 2019.
You don't have to be a Leon County resident to make a nomination.
The award will consist of a cash award and engraved plaque. The award information will be announced at a later date.
