LCS 2014 Teacher of the Year finalists

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County Schools (LCS) has named the 2014 LCS Teacher of the Year finalists. They are as follows:

Shannon Bottini, Gilchrist Elementary School—teachers 4th grade (all core subjects); has been teaching 9 total years, all at Gilchrist.

Susan Goracke, Canopy Oaks Elementary School—teaches 5th grade science; has been teaching for 18 total years, 10 at Canopy Oaks.

Deborah “Laurel” Lemley, Leon High School—teaches English II Honors/Gifted and English II; has been teaching for 37.5 years, 34.5 at Leon.

Mailin Muy, Roberts Elementary School—teaches 4th grade; has been teaching 8 total years, 4 at Roberts.

Robin Oliveri, Godby High School—teaches High School Science and is the District Secondary Science Developer; has been teaching for14 total years, 4 at Godby.

According to Chris Petley, LCS spokesperson, each finalist was interviewed by the selection committee this week, and the winner will be surprised at their school on Tuesday, February 11th at 10 a.m.
