TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Leon County Schools (LCS) announces its five finalists for the 2014-2015 'Teacher of the Year' award.
They are as follows:
1) Doctor Karen Minert -- a dropout prevention math and science teacher from Success Academy
2) Angeleen Harry -- a fifth grade reading teacher from Sabal Palm Elementary
3) Betsy Penn -- a fifth grade teacher at Kate Sullivan Elementary
4) Erma Sever -- a teacher at Roberts Elementary
5) Tim Girard -- a 7th grade civics teacher from Raa Middle School
LCS Spokesperson Chris Petley says the next step for the finalists will be an interview process with the selection committee this week.
The winner will be announced Thursday morning, December 18, 2014.
