TALLAHASSEE Fla.-- Members of the North Florida Regional Domestic Security Task Force prepare for an exercise that simulates an active shooter situation.
The exercise, called "Capitol Crisis," is intended to simulate a full scale emergency situation involving armed subjects in the Capitol Building.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the purpose of the "Capitol Crisis" exercise is to prepare first responders in the event of a real emergency or attack.
Over 200 participants in took part in the simulation. Upon completion of the simulation, participants will receive evaluations on their communication performance, as well as use of equipment.
Some of the agencies that took part in the simulation include the FDLE Capitol Police, Bay County Bomb team, Leon County Sheriff's Office, and Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
