TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--You may have noticed the Tallahassee Police Department and the Leon County Sheriff's Office using the hashtag #9PMroutine lately on social media posts.
Tallahassee Police Officer Rachelle Denmark says the hashtag started in Pasco County. Every night, at 9 p.m. a post is added to the police department's Facebook page to remind you lock your car doors.
A lot of times auto burglaries happen at night. Surveillance photos show a man trying to break into two cars on Circle Drive by lifting the door handles on Saturday around 11:30 p.m.
Police say one of the vehicles was unlocked. They say the suspect rifled through the car, but nothing was reported stolen.
She says the department really wants to hammer the message home so she also started adding the hashtag #itsalwaystimetostopcrime.
