TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Halloween is just a few days away and  some people know the perfect place to go for costumes and candy. WTXL spoke with a costume store owner, as he prepares for the store's last holiday.

Magic and Fun Costume Shop has been a "Mom and Pop" store in Tallahassee since 1979. Philip Sass opened up his business at University Plaza with just 150 dollars' worth of merchandise.

After a couple moves that brought the store to West Tennessee Street in 1994, Sass is now selling the space to a new retail store.

"We have a lot of people that come in and say, 'Our children — I was a child when I started coming to your business. Now, my children are coming to your business, and hate to see you leave kind of thing," said Sass.

With everything needing to go, customers are also feeling the sadness of the Tallahassee Halloween staple closing its doors.

"I like to see them succeed over the big chains, and you get a personalized experience when you come here, so I hate to see a store like this go," said James Richardson.

Another customer Joe Kail said "It's probably the most professional shop that I have seen in this town as far as costumes and magic."

Magic and Fun Costume Shop, will always be in the hearts of those who shopped there.

As for the employees, Sass said the retail store coming in has promised to hire some of the costume shop's long-time workers.
