MACON, Ga. (WTXL) - A Lakeland man who is a convicted felon received a four-year federal prison sentence after his supervised release was revoked.

Frederick Tyrone Calhoun, 35, was sentenced for being a convicted felon with a firearm and committing an aggravated assault, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney for the Middle District of Georgia.

Calhoun claimed that he shot a man in self-defense on Sept. 10, 2016. The man suffered gunshot wounds to his arm and hip.
