LAKELAND, Ga. (WTXL)--A Lakeland, Georgia man is accused of stealing thousands of dollars in pecans.

Lakeland Police say the Patten Company reported the theft earlier this month. After the company put up a $750 dollar, Clifford Manning was arrested Monday.

Police say he worked at the Patten Company and that after he left work each day he was taking with at least a box of pecans a day for some time. Police say the pecans were valued at $3,000.

Police say he's charged with theft by taking. He was booked into the Berrien County Jail and is now out on bond.
