LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - A Lake Park man died in a crash Tuesday evening when his car hit another car and left the road and hit a tree, the Georgia State Patrol said.
Guy Carl Gaulke, 60, of Lake Park died in the crash at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday on Loch Laurel Road, troopers said.
Troopers say Gaulke was traveling south on Loch Laurel Road and a car driven by Lori Ann McGuire of St. Augustine, FL, was traveling north on Loch Laurel Road.
Both vehicles were negotiating a curve and approaching each other from opposite directions when Gaulke's car crossed into the other's lane.
Gaulke's car ultimately hit the other car, overturned and struck a tree. Gaulke was pronounced dead at the scene.
McGuire did not sustain any injuries.
Troopers said this is the fifth fatal crash in Lowndes County since Thursday.
