BRADENTON, Fla. (AP) - Authorities say two people were killed when their SUV collided with a semi-trailer.

The Bradenton Herald reports that the crash occurred early Wednesday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports that the semi was attempting to turn left with a green arrow at a Manatee County intersection when the SUV, coming from the opposite direction, pulled around another vehicle and attempted to make a right turn with a red signal.

Officials say the SUV hit the right side of the semi's trailer and went underneath it. The SUV's driver, 29-year-old Kenneth Jackson, and passenger, 25-year-old Daniel Carter, were both fatally injured.
