GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) — Authorities say one person has been killed and another injured in a boat crash on Lake Lanier.
The Times of Gainesville reports (http://bit.ly/1Dr9Cd6) that the wreck happened Sunday night in the Chestatee Bay area of the lake off Georgia 369.
Chad Black, deputy chief of Hall County Fire Services, says the person who survived was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities say the crash was reported to emergency workers around 9:40 p.m. Sunday.
The Gainesville newspaper reports that the Hall County Fire Services Marine Rescue unit was at the scene and assisting the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
