BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WTXL)-- A Brinson man is dead after a stand-off at his home. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is now investigating the officer-involved shooting.
According to GBI, 50-year-old Roger Braswell made a threatening statement to a former co-worker over the phone. The threat prompted law enforcement to visit Braswell at his Yates Spring Road home.
Braswell refused assistance and continued to make threatening statements, this time to police, which resulted in a warrant for Terroristic Threats and Acts.
Police secured the perimeter around Braswell's home. That's when he exited the home firing a gun at two of the officers. One officer returned the fire.
Braswell suffered from wounds to his hip, shoulder, and knee. He died at Bainbridge Memorial Hospital.
