TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- Kids on the south side of Tallahassee got active for the South City Health and Fitness Day.
It was held at the Greater Love Church of God in Christ from 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Saturday. The City of Tallahassee partnered with the Tallahassee Democrat, United Way of the Big Bend and the South City Revitalization Council and Neighborhood Association to host the event. The goal is to show kids the importance of physical fitness and good nutrition. Kids were able to play games and sports as well as learn from different healthy businesses. The Tallahassee Fire Department was also there to show off a fire truck and share more information on their "Where's the Beep" campaign.
