MIAMI (AP) - The star witness in the state of Florida's case against a woman accused of killing foster child Rilya Wilson has walked out of state prison.
Robin Lunceford testified that Gerrilyn Graham confessed to killing 4-year-old Rilya while both were jailed together. In a plea deal with prosecutors, she got a life habitual offender sentence reduced to about 10 years.
The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/19017nL ) reports that Lunceford was released last week.
Graham was convicted of kidnapping and child abuse and sentenced to 55 years in prison. But jurors failed to agree on the murder charge and prosecutors plan to try Graham again.
The case caused a statewide scandal because Rilya's disappearance in late 2000 wasn't discovered by foster care officials for 15 months. Her body has never been found.
