VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)--The Lowndes County school system's attorney will prepare defensive pleadings in response to two lawsuits filed against the school system in the death of Kendrick Johnson.
One of the lawsuits filed is a wrongful death suit.
The school system spokesperson says Wednesday attorney Warren Turner acknowledged service for the defendants.
Kendrick Johnson was found dead inside a rolled up gym mat at Lowndes High School last year.
His parents believed he was murdered but Lowndes County investigators said his death was an accident.
U.S. Attorney Michael J. Moore later launched an investigation.
