TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- The Tallahassee Fire Department has placed a holiday wreath at Dorothy B. Oven Park again this holiday season, as a part of the 5th annual "Keep the Wreath Green" campaign.
The Fire Department hopes the wreath will serve as a visual reminder for the community to be aware of fire safety during the holiday season, which is one of the busiest times of the year for house fires.
For the next six weeks, the Fire Department plans to replace one of the 50 green bulbs on the wreath with a red one each time a house fire happens.
Last year, fire fighters changed 16 bulbs.
To see the wreath, you can visit the park at 3205 Thomasville Road in Tallahassee anytime before January 12.
And while you are there, you can also see the park's annual light display that begins each night at dusk. It will run until January 1.
