TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- Governor Rick Scott has appointed the former head of the state's highway safety agency to lead the Florida prison system.
He announced this week that Julie Jones will become secretary of the Florida Department of Corrections, effective on January 5th.
She comes into the agency following Mike Crews' controversial term, where he was accused of punishing whistle blowers and not cracking down on prison abuse.
