CLEARWATER, Fla. - A judge postponed a hearing regarding the competency of John Jonchuck, the man charged with killing his daughter by throwing her off a Tampa Bay area bridge.
The Tampa Tribune reports the judge Monday rescheduled the hearing until April 26. Jonchuck is charged in the 2015 death of his 5-year-old daughter, Phoebe.
He was ruled by doctors to be incompetent to stand trial in February for the third time and has been in a state mental hospital. He recently was moved to the county jail for today's hearing after the issuance of a new psychological report, which is sealed.
If Jonchuck is deemed competent and found guilty, prosecutors said they plan to seek the death penalty.
