TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Leon County judge has denied a motion for acquittal and a new trial in the Denise Williams case.
Williams is the Tallahassee woman found guilty last month for murdering her husband Mike Williams 18 years ago.
Earlier this week, the judge denied a motion, where her attorney asked to interview the six jurors from her trial last month.
It was based on a claim that an unnamed male juror indicated he considered Williams' "demeanor and reaction" when coming up with a verdict.
"We're concerned that the jury considered facts that were not evidence. That they considered things outside what was presented at trial, and we view that as improper, and we view that as improper throughout the entire trial," said Ethan Way, Williams' Attorney.
Denise was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, accessory to murder, conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, and two counts of insurance fraud.
During Friday's hearing, the judge dismissed the accessory after the fact charge but denied the motion for acquittal.
Williams is scheduled to be sentenced on February 6. She faces life in prison.
