JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office K9 Unit was patrolling the area of Highway 90 between Cottondale and Marianna on Wednesday, August 16.
A deputy saw a car traveling with their tail-light out. The car was pulled over and the driver, Abranda Ward, and passenger, Jason Porter, were making furtive movements inside the car.
The K9 conducted a Free Air Sniff around the exterior of the car and was alerted to an odor of narcotics. The deputy saw multiple plastic drinking bottles containing a clear bi-layer liquid, associated with Methamphetamine.
The liquids were field tested and displayed a favorable result for the presence of Methamphetamine. A glass pipe with suspected containing suspected muriatic acid, commonly associated with the manufacture of Methamphetamine.
Ward and Porter were placed under arrest and transported to JCCF.
Both face the following charges:
- trafficking in Methamphetamine
- possession of drug paraphernalia
