Posted

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - One week after Jackson County Sheriff's Office, asked for the public's help in finding a registered sex offender; he was arrested in New York.

He is in custody awaiting transport back to Florida. Officials say John Crutchfield moved from his registered address on Cliff Road, South of Graceville, in October without notifying the sheriffs office.

A few dead ends led investigators to believe he had fled to New York. An alert was sent to the Spring Valley Police Department, and moments later he was found and arrested.  Crutchfield is a repeat sexual offender, and has been arrested several times for moving out of Jackson County without registering.
