GRAND RIDGE, Fla. (WTXL) - Several Jackson County students were injured this morning after a serious accident in Grand Ridge on US 90 and Sagebrush Avenue, according to Assistant Chief of Jackson County Fire and Rescue Will Arroyo.

He says 30 people were involved in the accident. The students were a mix of elementary, middle and high school students. The school district says none of the students are facing life-threatening injuries.

The crash involved two buses and a semi-truck.

Arroyo says the driver of the semi-truck was taken the hospital via ambulance, and several students were taken to the hospital by helicopter.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, but school officials believe the sun may have blinded the driver of the semi-truck while driving east on Highway 90.
