JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Two people were arrested on drug charges after a Jackson County deputy made a traffic stop.
Maurice Elder, a convicted felon, and Casssandra Davis were taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility on Saturday to await a first appearance.
Elder was driving the car when the deputy stopped it and smelled marijuana coming from the interior, according to a news release.
Searching the car, the deputy found a small plastic wrapper containing methamphetamine, two loaded firearms in the glove compartment, a partial burnt marijuana cigarette and a large quantity of ammunition in the trunk.
Davis had an active warrant for her arrest out of Houston County, Alabama. Once Davis was secured in the rear of the patrol vehicle, the deputy saw her make several movements and found "shards" of methamphetimine scattered on the vehicle's seat.
On Elder's person, the deputy found $1,300 in cash.
