Jackson County Burglary Suspect Still on the Run

JACKSON COUNTY, FL. (WTXL) - The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for a suspect in a burglary.

The Sheriff's Office received a 911 call in reference to a vehicle burglary in progress on February 27th at approximately 12:41 a.m.  According to the caller and his friend, they were passing by Marianna Pawn and Gun when they observed two individuals busting the windows out of a 1991 Honda Civic that was for sale on the lot. While communicating with the 911 operator they observed the subjects removing stereo items from the vehicle also.

The vehicle was a customized show car with Lamborghini style doors which open upward rather than outward. The suspects apparently were not aware of that and tried to snatch the doors open repeatedly damaging the hinges, door, and fender. Total damage to the vehicle, including the windows, is estimated at $3100.

When deputies arrived the suspects fled on foot. One of the suspects fell in a ditch, shattering both bones in his lower leg below the knee and above the ankle. 

The second subject able to get away from authorities by running into Arrowhead RV Park. 

The first suspect was was identified as Steven Gregory Weeks. He was transported to Jackson Hospital by ambulance and then to Tallahassee Memorial for surgery. Upon his release a warrant was obtained and he was placed under arrest and lodged in the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
