MARIANNA, Fla. (WTXL) - A Jackson County deputy arrested a passenger on drug and probation violation charges after making a traffic stop.

Christy Lee Faulk of Jackson County was arrested Sunday and taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.

She faces charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of state probation, according to a news release.

As a deputy stopped the car in the area of Highway 71 and Magnolia Road after seeing a traffic infraction, the deputy saw the front seat passenger make several "furtive movements in the area where she was seated."

The deputy asked the front seat passenger if there were any illegal weapons or narcotics in the vehicle or in the area where she was seen making movements.

The passenger stated that she had a pipe and methamphetamine in her purse.

A search revealed the items.

Faulk was on active state probation.
