Jackson Co. man arrested after drug investigation

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Jackson County Sheriff's Office concluded an investigation into the delivery of suspected marijuana through the U.S. Postal Service on Friday, November 3. 

During the investigation, several packages were collected and intercepted. The Drug Force conducted a controlled delivery to the intended residence in Cottondale, Fla. 

Deputies gained consent to search the residence by 22-year-old, Rory James Davis. During the search, some packages were opened by investigators that contained quantities of high grade marijuana. 

An investigator looked through Davis' phone during the search and Davis grabbed the phone in an attempt to delete evidence from the phone. Davis failed to comply with verbal orders to get back, and as a result he was tasered. 

Deputies placed Davis under arrest and was charged with the following: 

  • Marijuana-Possess with to sell  
  • Batter-On a Law Enforcement Officer 
  • Resist Officer with Violence 
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 
  • Violation of State Probation
