TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University has confirmed that former school superintendent Jackie Pons has resigned from his newest position as a business analyst in the Office of Admissions.
Dennis Schnikker, a representative for FSU, said that Pons was hired Dec. 12 as a business analyst in the Office of Admissions and resigned Wednesday.
"Mr. Pons was working with us on a project that would have assisted us in our recruitment of students from undeserved areas in the panhandle region," said FSU Office of the President Chief of Staff David Coburn. "Mr. Pons' relationships with superintendents in the region was of great benefit. We wish him the well in the future."
They said that Pons' annual salary was $50,000 in the position.
When asked for comment, Pons' said that the position was a job he accepted to move forward and he is looking for a job in either the public or private sector.
