TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Tallahassee Police Department honors Child Passenger Safety Week by offering free car seat inspections Wednesday at the station.

Parents stopped by to learn if they had the proper car seat and how to set them up from a specialist.

It's a service that TPD offers every work day by appointment.

"We'll have technicians that are out there that are specially trained to know if they are installed correctly, to know if the child is in them correctly," said Officer Dave Northway, the public information officer at the Tallahassee Police Department.

Parents left the police department feeling confident that their child is safely riding passenger. They say it's something every parent should do.

"We recommend everyone come and make sure that they've put them in correctly," said Sara Kinsey, a Tallahassee resident.
