JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL)--Jackson County deputies are asking for help to find out who damaged irrigation systems.

On May 28, deputies were called to the Greenwood Highway, just east of the Chipola River about a criminal mischief incident.

When they arrived on scene, a farmer told them seven out of eight irrigation systems were damaged as a result of someone cutting the wires that operate the systems. The wires weren't taken.

Deputies say four of the eight motors that run the systems had sand poured into the oil fill caps and down into the motors.

Deputies determined that the damages were done between May 23 and May 26.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help to locate the person or persons responsible for the damages. If anyone saw anything suspicious in this area, deputies want to hear from you. You can call them at 850-482-9648 or Crime Stoppers at 850-526-5000.

A reward is being offered.
