Drug intoxication has been blamed for the deaths of two Florida residents whose bodies were found in an eastern Iowa hotel room.
The bodies were found Dec. 9 in a room at the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel in Coralville. They were identified as that of 41-year-old John Tromba and 44-year-old Penny Herman. Both were from Port St. Lucie, Florida.
Coralville Police Chief Barry Bedford and Johnson County Attorney Janet Lyness said Thursday the medical examiner has ruled that the two died of accidental "mixed drug intoxication" involving heroin and an anti-anxiety drug.
