Interview about upcoming Cascades Park opening

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Members of the community are joining Sunrise host, Greg Angel, to talk about the grand opening of Cascades Park.

In the beginning of the week long series, Wayne Tedder with Blueprint 2000, came on Sunrise talking about a few of the attractions at the park as well as well as the price tag and what is coming in the future for the project.

Community anticipation for the opening of the park is at a high as Tedder displayed during the interview,  "...we've got a lot of people just continuously stopping by while the park was under construction..."

A few of the attractions community members have been trying to get a sneak-peak of include a butterfly house, amphitheater, and interactive water fountain that kids can play in during the day and is synced to water and music at night.

Tedder also spoke about the One-Penny Sales Tax and how construction of the project has had a thirty-million dollar price tag that not only included the park but updating storm-water infrastructure and flood prevention.

The completion of Cascades Park finishes part two of three. Phase three will create a connection from the park to FAMU Way and the end product will be trail connecting Leon High-school to St. Marks.
