ORLANDO, FL. (AP) -- Injured military athletes from around the world will gather in Orlando next year for the 2016 Invictus Games.
Britian's Prince Harry announced in a videotaped message Tuesday that Florida was selected to host the event.
Prince Harry came up with the idea for the international event after opening the Wounded Warrior games in the United States in 2013.
The competition will be held in May at the ESPN Wild World of Sports Complex at Orlando's Walt Disney World Resort.
Invictus Games Chairman Ken Fisher says organizers believe the event will inspire people worldwide.
