MIAMI, FL (CNN) -- An international fugitive was arrested Wednesday in what authorities say was the biggest gold heist in Florida's history.
CNN reports Cuban national Raonel Valdez-Valhuerdis, 34, attacked a gold refinery employee in 2012 and held him at gunpoint.
He then took off with more than 100 pounds of gold. The estimated value? More than $2 million.
Authorities say two other unidentified men were involved in the robbery, but officials believe Valdez-Valhuerdis was the mastermind.
He was wearing a court-ordered GPS ankle monitor at the time of the robbery.
Valdez-Valhuerdis was arrested in Miami after being deported from belize.
