VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Officials said they are investigating after an inmate was killed in a one-on-one assault at a Valdosta prison.
The Georgia Department of Corrections says that an inmate died at Valdosta State Prison on Friday.
Gwendolyn Hogan, a manager of public affairs for the agency, confirmed that Robert Hughes died on Friday.
She said that the incident was a one-on-one assault and is being investigated as a homicide.
