TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) - Leon County Sheriff's investigators say an inmate was found in distress Wednesday afternoon after receiving his morning meal.

Correctional officers, medical staff, and paramedics all tried life saving techniques on the inmate; but he did not survive.

A preliminary autopsy report revealed that Willie C. White, 65, died as a result of choking on a piece of food, according to LCSO.

White was being housed in the jail's medical facility due to his history of multiple hospitalizations during his incarceration.

The investigation is on-going, however investigators do not believe there is any indication of foul play.
