PINELLAS PARK, Fla. -- Authorities say three women were injured when a car crashed through the outdoor dining area of a Tampa Bay area Applebee's Bar & Grill.
Pinellas Park police report that 60-year-old Alvonia Morris was attempting to park in a handicap spot just in front of the patio Thursday afternoon. She told officers she was trying to put the car in park when it moved forward into the dining area.
Two of the victims received minor injuries from being struck by the vehicle and debris. The third victim suffered a broken ankle when she was partially pinned against a wall.
Damage to the patio area included support beams, railings, several tables and chairs and the exterior wall of the building.
Officers didn't detect any sign of impairment from Morris. She was cited with careless driving.
