RIVERVIEW, Fla. (AP) - A man was hospitalized following a suspected meth lab explosion at a Tampa Bay area residence.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports that the explosion occurred Thursday afternoon in a barn behind a Riverview home. Responding deputies and firefighters found one man who had suffered critical burns. He was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital.
Authorities say detectives specially trained to investigate drug labs were going through the barn to confirm that the explosion was caused by a methamphetamine operation and to find other possible victims.
The hospitalized man was not named.
