VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL)--Police are now saying a different person was behind the wheel of a car that hit a person, and crashed into a house.
Police initially believe Jonathan Gilbert was driving the car and was being charged with aggravated assault and other charges.
Police say Gilbert would not speak with investigators. They also say he was charged based on some physical evidence, and statements from witnesses who saw him running from the car Tuesday. The only remaining charge on Gilbert is giving a false name to officers.
Police say Heyward Nash was actually the driver of the silver Honda that hit Domonique Herron at East Brookwood Place. Nash is charged with aggravated assault, aggravated battery, criminal damage to property, and reckless conduct.
